Bunion

Bunion is a painful or nonpainful bony bump that forms on the joint at the base of the big toes, often referred to as hallux valgus.

Causes

• Inappropriate footwear
• Arthritis
• Foot injury
• Genetic disorder
• Neuromuscular condition (e.g., Cerebral palsy)

Symptoms & Identification

• Visible bump on inside of the foot
• Callus or corn on affected site
• Inflammation
• Stiffness
• Difficulty walking
